Bio:

The Swedish band Badge sounds like a sequence in a bad horror movie when a roadhouse band of zombie junkie punks play their music behind a bar brawl

where the participants end up eating each others’ limbs.

They are definitely for real, though.

With echoes of the old and the anger of today Badge was formed by guitarist Matti Norlin and drummer Fredrik Haake 2002.

Versatile drummer Fredrik Haake was based in New York for a period, where he played drums in several acts, including God Is My Co-Pilot and the Vanity

Set with Jim Sclavunos (from Nick Cave's "Bad Seeds"). Back in Sweden Fredrik joined Meldrum who toured with: Motörhead, Zakk Wylde Black Label

Sociaty, Sepultura, Danzig, and Nashville Pussy.

Guitarist Matti Norlin has released four solo albums and has established himself in Scandinavia as one of the most perceptive interpreters of early "Pre

War Blues". He has also appeared on records with Sam Mitchell (ex-Rod Stewart's band), Nicolai Dunger and Tony & The Bitters (interpretations of the

Swedish death metal band Dismember) and with the folk band Skrömta.

On "If I could love ..." also participates bassist Gustaf Hielm. Gustaf is best known through his time in the Swedish metal band Meshuggah (1995-2003)

and as a bass player in progressive Pain of Salvation. He also plays with the musical geniuses Mats & Morgan.

The energetic trio Badge has released two albums, ”Kill Another Fuzz” (2006) and

”If I could love, I´d love this” released in 2013 by Perennity Records/Sound Pollution 16th of

October 2013 in Scandinavia, 25th of October in the rest of Europe and 25th of

November in the US and Japan.

Kill Another Fuzz (2006)

" If you love your rock and roll raw, honest and

stripped, if you have a thing for melodic blues, if

great songs and great players makes you tick,

then I would highly recommend this album."

" If you wanna resemble Swedish Badge with

any other band, it will perhaps be an updated

Led Zeppelin, but with angry and hungry dog

jaws making Badge unique. There is a hyperenergetic efficiency in this Stockholm band's music, which is always in danger of exploding."

  1. -Sweden Rock Magazine, Scandinavia

"Badge is a furious mix of Mississippi Delta

Blues, Led Zeppelin, and Psychobilly. From the

first song off the album “Down To Earth”,

vocalist/guitarist Matti Norlin mashes up a vibe

resembling something between The Black

Crowes, Led Zeppelin, and The White Stripes

all at once."
